Bubbles where sun hits laminate floor.
Floor finish bubbles.
I have a maple laminated floor.
When bubbles appear in a freshly applied epoxy coating the most common culprit is something called outgassing.
As such it is only effective with polyurethane finishes.
Unfortunately the formation of blisters and bubbles in an industrial floor coating is a fairly common problem.
Causes of floor coating blisters.
What would you do.
I would contact the installer and manufacturer.
In the sun a few spots of the finish have bubbled and cracked.
Below we ll look at the causes and find out how to prevent these issues.
The floor was guaranteed for 25 years.
While blisters and bubbles may look similar they re unsightly either way their causes are quite different.
This happens to floor finishers who drag the finish applicator aggressively and then must stay off the floor until the finish dries.
This method gets rid of the finish without removing any of the wood beneath.
If you missed the bubbles while the varnish was fresh you may find the finish mottled with tiny craters or hardened bubbles.
Carefully remove the finish clean the space let it dry then apply two to three new coats of finish until the color of the finish matches the rest of your floor.
After the floor finish has hardened enough to sand it refinishers pass over it with a floor buffer fitted with a 120 or 150 grit sanding screen to remove bubbles before applying another coat.
