Fix leaking sink drain trap.
Remove the old drain pipe step 2.
Connect a trap bend to the trap arm.
Attach a trap arm step 5.
Put on your nitrile or vinyl gloves to protect your hands from.
Replace this by removing the p trap and taking off the washers which are fitted to the threads at each end.

One cause of a leaking p trap is a failed washer.
Lay out the replacement pipes on the floor next to the sink to see how they fit together.
Look for corroded or cracked washers although it is a good idea to replace them all.
Place the bucket underneath the leaky pipes.
Check the piping and drain line for any loose fittings.
Have a towel or a bucket ready to collect any leakage.
Sometimes the sink drain doesn t line up perfectly with the waste outlet in the arm and because of the offset the p trap connections aren t straight.

Attach new tailpiece step 3.
Find replacement washers that are the exact same size and slide them onto the ends.
Is your kitchen sink drain leaking water underneath.
Add a t fitting if necessary step 4.
Using slip joint pliers disconnect the slip joint nuts that hold the trap to the tailpiece and drainpipe.
If you can t stop leaks by tightening these off kilter connections you may have to disassemble the entire trap and rebuild it with extra lengths of pipe to make the connections straight.
Remove the tailpipe nut beneath the sink.
You may need to turn on the water to see where it drips or even fill the sink and let the water stand for a few minutes before the leak appears.
Check the sealant around the sink drain and faucet for any faulty caulk.
